Our Fuels and Additives

Kerosene (home heating oil)

We supply standard heating oil (also known as 28 second oil), commonly used to fire oil boilers.

This oil is not to be used as fuel for a road vehicle, off-road vehicle, vessel, or any other machinery that is not an excepted machine.

For improved performance, we supply kerosene mixed with additives:

Cleaner Burn - heating oil for use with cookers,e.g. Agas and Rayburns

This is a higher grade of kerosene, with an additive that lowers the char value. This reduces the build up of carbon deposits and soot, which can otherwise cause Aga servicing problems. The long term benefits include reduced servicing problems and costs.

Similar to Topanol and Cooker Care.

GloBurn - An upgraded kerosene

Kerosene with an additive that stabilises the fuel, keeping it fresher for longer. This can reduce service problems and improve system efficiency. Benefits also include prevention of sludge build up, and a mild vanilla fragrance.

Similar to Econotherm and Glomax.

Agricultural Fuel (Gas Oil / Red Diesel)

We supply gas oil (red diesel), also known as 35 second oil, often used to power agricultural machinery. Our farming customers appreciate our service, often reaching them at short notice when their supplies have run dry and time is critical.

This fuel is not to be used as road fuel for a road vehicle, off-road vehicle, vessel, or any other machinery that is not an excepted machine.

Are you eligible to use red diesel from April 2022?

If your business will lose its entitlement to use red diesel from this date, we can help you prepare for the new change in legislation.

The sectors that were said to remain eligible for red diesel use would be:

  • Agriculture, horticulture, fish farming, forestry

  • Railways

  • Non-commercial heating systems, such as off-the-grid homes, places of worship and narrowboats

  • Fishing and water freight

  • Travelling funfairs and circuses

  • Amateur sports clubs

  • Golf courses

  • Non-commercial power generation

This means those industries not included in the above list will have to use fuel that’s taxed at the standard rate for white diesel. Those no longer able to use red diesel after 1st April 2022 are:

  • Construction and road maintenance

  • Logistics and haulage (including refrigeration units)

  • Mining and quarrying

  • Oil and gas extraction

  • Waste management

  • Commercial heating

  • Leisure

  • Airport operations and ports

  • Manufacturing (such as ceramics, timber and steel)

Please be advised that you will be asked to complete a declaration of usage that will be passed onto HMRC if requested.

If you do not qualify and are found to be using Red Diesel, then HMRC will also be authorised to disapply its powers to seize vehicles or other machinery in specific cases.
